The major snow storms of last week dumped about 16+ inches in our area. It looks like we have about 18-20" currently on the ground. The groomers have been out most of last week and continue to work into this week to open and fine tune trails. All of the land trails in the I. Falls/Rainy Lake area are in good condition with one exception. The western half of the Birchdale Connection is still ungroomed, but we hope to get that opened by this weekend. The cold temps have frozen the swamps and loggers are starting to work, so please be cautious in these limited areas. VNP has opened another lake trail from Ash River to Kettle Falls (yellow trail). Currently lake trails and portages are not being groomed so please watch for drifted lakes conditions and rough portages. If you can stand the cold it should be great riding!
